Sentence for south coast bootlegger

West Sussex Trading Standards following an investigation and undercover operation by Surelock investigators on behalf of TRAP, who in October 2018 identified the eBay store Rockshirtz run by Garry Warren of Bognor Regis. Test purchases were carried out proving products were counterfeit.

In February 2019 together with West Sussex Trading Standards, Surelock investigators went to the home address of Warren where they found almost 2000 counterfeit music T-shirts and hooded tops worth more than £18,000.

Artists affected included Iron Maiden, Queen, The Beatles, Motorhead, AC/DC, Guns n Roses, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Pantera, Linkin Park, Black Sabbath, Sex Pistols, Avenge Sevenfold and Green day.

Warren pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates Court and was sentenced to a 12 month community order with 130 hours of unpaid work plus costs.
